(ii) the khoraghat extn ml block covering an area of 83 sq. kms is located in the south assam shelf part (dhansiri valley) of a&aa basin. six new locations are proposed for exploration of hydrocarbon in the area. (iii) golaghat extn ii a pml covering an area of 61+24 sq.km is located in the south assam shelf part (dhansiri valley) of a&aa basin. (iv) the pml for golaghat extn ii a block grant is awaited by state government (7 years pml block). two new locations are proposed for exploration of hydrocarbon in the area. (v) golaghat dist. pel covering an area of 54.4 skm comprises of two parts- one to the north of khoraghat and another to west of it. two exploratory locations (one as uraa & one new location nl-12) are proposed for exploration and extraction of hydrocarbon in the area. total area is 251.4 sq. kms. the duration of drilling is approximately 3-4 months for each well. the quantity of drilling fluid is about 700 cu. mtrs/well. oil and natural gas corporation is planning redevelopment of the santhal oil field in gujarat. the companys board, at its meeting held on 23rd february, 2017, has approved the project for redevelopment of santhal field at a capital cost of rs. 11,625.6 million. santhal oil field of mehsana asset in north gujarat is located in the southern part of the heavy belt of north cambay basin. the field has oiip (oil initially in place) of 53.56 mmt with ultimate reserves of 23.28 mmt. the envisaged primary recovery was only 17 of oiip. so far, 14.46 mmt oil has been produced from the field, which is 27 of oiio. to further accelerate the recovery and capture the displaced oil, a redevelopment plan has been drawn in which 129 new wells are to be drilled. it also includes revamping and upgradation of 2 ggs-cum-ctfs in the field and construction of a new etp (effluent treatment plant) of 4,000 cu. mtrs/ day capacity. after implementation of this scheme, cumulative oil production from the field is expected to be 20.46 mmt (i.e. 38.2 of oiip) by the year 2029-30, i.e., an incremental crude oil production of 3.44 mmt. the completion of facilities is expected by september 2020 and drilling of wells by march 2026. oil and natural gas corporation is planning 4th phase development of nbp oil field in maharashtra. the companys board, at its meeting held on 23rd february, 2017, has approved the project for 4th phase development of nbp field in bassein and satellite asset at a capital cost of rs. 10,026.7 million. the nbp (nb prasad-d1) field is situated in deep continental shelf in western offshore basin and located about 200 km from mumbai city in a water depth of about 85-90m. as on date, the field is being exploited with 34 producers and 2 water injectors. the current oil production in the field is about 30,000 bopd. the 4th phase of development of nbp field envisages drilling of 6 new wells with electrical submersible pump system, installation of 1 new well platform and 3 well clamp-on structure along with associated pipelines and power cables. the project is expected to give peak oil production of 4,890 bopd in the year 2019-20, with an incremental oil production of 2.08 mmt during the life of the project. the project is scheduled for completion by november 2019. oil and natural gas corporation proposes additional exploratory drilling of 15 wells in nelp-i offshore block kg-dwn-98/2, kg basin, andhra pradesh. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 57,500 million. the current status of the project could not be ascertained. according to moef sources, the offshore block kg-dwn-98/2 with an area of 7294.6 sq. km was initially awarded to cairn energy india (ceil) with 100 pi in the 1st round of nelp bidding in april, 2000. subsequently, south-eastern part of the block with an area of 2462 sq.km was relinquished in 2004. in march 2005, ongc has acquired 90 of pi and operatorship. from 28.08.2014 onwards ongc has become 100 pi holder of the block. the northern part of the block, covering 3,800 sq. km, was declared as northern discovery area (nda) with prominent finds/discoveries such as annapurna, kanakadurga, padmavati, dwn-n-1, a-1, d-1/kt-1, e-1, u-1, w-1, a-2, m-3, m-4 and f-1 with their extensions. the southern part of the block, covering an area of 3494 sq. km, was declared as southern discovery area (sda) with significant gas discoveries in ud-1, ud-4 and ud-5. so far, ceil & ongc had obtained environmental clearances for exploratory drilling of 39 wells in the block. out of the 39 locations, exploratory drilling at 32 locations has been completed and at remaining seven locations, drilling will be taken up during the course of the year. oil and natural gas corporation is planning development of north west b-173a field under neelam & heera asset of western offshore in maharashtra. the companys board has approved field development plan (fdp) of the block. the company will be investing rs. 4,741.5 million towards development of the field to enhance production from its western offshore. the investment decision has been approved by the ongc board in its 289th meeting on 31st january, 2017. nw-b-173a field is located 5 km northwest from b-173a field which is about 25 km north of neelam field at an average water depth of 55 mtrs. in april 2014, b-173a-8 exploratory well was drilled in nw b-173a field, which produced oil at the rate of 2,246 bopd on conventional testing from mukta pay, resulting in declaration of discovery of this field. the production is expected to commence from february 2019 and peak production rate of 2,870 bopd of oil and 56,350 cu. mtrs/ day of gas is expected to be achieved in 2019-20. the cumulative production till 2031-32 is pegged at 0.760 mmt of oil & 0.213 bcm of gas. the oil and gas will be evacuated through existing neelam process facilities. the project envisages installation of one well head platform, associated pipelines and drilling of 3 wells. the project is scheduled for completion by may 2019.
