punjab state council of science & technology is planning to open a technology and innovation support center (tisc) at sector-26, in the ut of chandigarh. the department of industrial policy and promotion (dipp), ministry of commerce & industry, government of india, signed an institutional agreement with the punjab state council of science and technology in new delhi on 13th july, 2017 to establish indias first technology and innovation support center (tisc) at patent information centre, punjab, under the world intellectual property organizations (wipo) tisc program. services offered by tiscs include: 1. access to online patent and non-patent (scientific and technical) resources and ip-related publications; 2. assistance in searching and retrieving technology information; 3. training in database search; 4. on-demand searches (novelty, state-of-the-art and infringement); 5. monitoring technology and competitors; 6. basic information on industrial property laws, management and strategy, and technology commercialization and marketing. the cell for ipr promotion and management (cipam) is designated as the national focal point for the tisc national network. as the national focal point, cipam shall identify potential host institutions, assess their capacities and support them in joining the tisc program. cipam will also act as the main intermediary between wipo and tisc host institutions and coordinate all the activities of the national tisc network. indian oil corporation is planning solar photo voltaic (spv) system in dist. bathinda and dist. jalandhar, punjab. limited e-tenders invited for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of solar photo voltaic (spv) system of capacity 130 kwp at bhatinda terminal and 60 kwp at jalandhar terminal. the scope of work includes part-a: engineering, procurement and construction (epc): design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, testing and commissioning of the project for captive consumption and comprehensive operation and maintenance of the plant for a period of 1 year from the date of successful project commissioning. this also includes mandatory spares. part-b: operation and maintenance: operation and maintenance of the plant for a period of 4 years from the date of completion of work. completion time for both terminals shall be 3 months from the date of letter of acceptance. national institute of technical teachers training and research (nitttr) is planning a multi-physics simulation center of excellence (scoe) in india. abb india signed an mou with nitttr to establish the scoe for teachers, students and industry engineers to develop a deeper understanding of the underlying multi-physics and design principles for the manufacturing of various best in class electro-mechanical equipment in india. the center will provide an exposure, currently scarce, in the areas of modeling, simulations and design with expert guidance to engineers, scientists, researchers and faculties across industry oriented topics. scope of the center includes establishing a high performance computing platform with necessary advanced computational tools. it will be funded by abbs corporate social responsibility (csr) to promote education and skill improvement for graduating engineers, research students, industry professionals as well as faculty. the center is expected to be operational by 2017.
