ashoka distillers and chemicals is planning an expansion of its grain-based distillery from 80 kld to 160 kld and coal-based co-gen power plant from 2 mw to 5 mw at tehsil hathin, dist. palwal, haryana on existing land. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 300 million. according to moef sources, the unit will produce rectified spirit, extra neutral alcohol, country liquor & imfl, ethanol. the project is being/will be based on zero effluent discharge. electricity requirement of 3.6 mw will be sourced from the co-gen thermal power plant and from state electricity board. the total plot area is 11.82 hectares, out of which 9.63 hectares has already developed as green belt. the project will be completed in 2 years after receipt of all regulatory approvals.
