total drugs and intermediates is planning an expansion of its bulk drug and its intermediates manufacturing unit at village gaddapotharam, dist. sangareddy, telangana. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 150 million. the unit was previously manufacturing bulk drug intermediates and now it is proposed to manufacture bulk drug and its intermediates. equipment supplier and contractor are yet to be appointed. the project is waiting for environmental clearance. work on the project is expected to commence in october 2017. according to moef sources, the existing capacity of the unit is 40 tpm and the proposed capacity of the unit is 135 tpm. the expansion involves construction of administrative block erection of new boiler, zld system, 2 stages scrubbing system and installing new reactors in the exciting production block if necessary. the expansion activities will commence after getting statutory clearance and will be completed within 2 years.
