monnet ispat & energy proposes the hahaladdi iron ore mining project at village hahaladdi, dist. kanker, chhattisgarh. the current status of the project could not be ascertained. according to moef sources, min mec consultancy, new delhi is the environmental consultant. the mine lease area is 78.90 hectares. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 250 million. the capacity is 0.15 mtpa. opencast, semi-mechanised & manual method of mining will be adopted. the iron ore will be used in the companys integrated steel plant at mandir hasaud, near raipur, chhattisgarh, which has already commenced production by utilizing sponge grade iron obtained from far-off locations in odisha and partly from bailadila. the life of the mine is 21 years.
