karnataka power transmission corporation is planning a transmission line in karnataka. e-tenders invited in may 2017 for a) construction of 220kv s/c line on d/c towers for a length of 15.168km from existing 400kv pgcil station at beerenahalli (hiriyur) to existing 220/66/11kv kptcl station at hiriyur in chitradurga district in existing corridor of 220kv s/c line from hoysalakatte to 220/66/11kv station hiriyur (partly in new corridor i.e from pgcil point to link 220kv s/c line from hoysalakatte to 220/66/11kv srs at hiriyur) including rearrangement of existing 220kv lines near beerenahalli 400kv station and dismantling of existing 220kv line tower. b) construction of 220kv d/c line on d/c towers from existing 220/66kv station chitradurga to existing 220/66kv station hiriyur in chitradurga district in existing corridor (partly m/c b/w lilo point of guttur-hiruyur line to 220kv substation chitradurga in the existing corridor (5.255km)) for a total length of 36.506kms including dismantling of existing 220kv s/c and d/c line towers. c) construction of two nos. of 220kv terminal bays at 220/66kv hiriyur station in hiriyur taluk, chitradurga district. d) construction of one no. of 220kv terminal bay at 220/66kv chitradurga station in chitradurga taluk and district under green energy corridor on total turnkey basis, including supply of all materials, erection (including civil works), testing and commissioning. the period of completion is 15 months from the date of letter of award of contract including monsoon period. karnataka power transmission corporation is constructing a 220 kv d/c transmission line at village mittemari, dist. chikballapur, karnataka. bajaj electricals is the implementing agency. the project entails construction of the 220 kv d/c transmission line from existing 220/66 kv gowribidanur substation to proposed 220/66kv substation at village mittemari. the project has been applied for forest clearance for the diversion of 0.91 hectares of forest land required for the project. civil work is in progress. the project is scheduled for completion in january 2017. according to forest clearance sources, the company has applied for forest clearance for diversion of forest land required for construction of the line for a period of 30 years for a distance of 45.504 kms. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 756.479 million.
