food corporation of india is planning to construct 2 silos at dhamora, dist. rampur, uttar pradesh and borivili, dist. mumbai suburban, maharashtra. online request for qualification (rfq) have been invited for selection of developer for construction of silos for storage of wheat at dhamora and borivili through public private partnership (ppp) on dbfot basis. the capacity of silos is 50,000 mt each. the indicative cost of the dhamora silo is rs. 380 million and the borivili silo is rs. 420 million. the scope of work will broadly include designing, financing and construction of integrated silo facility for storage of food grains and the management, operation and maintenance thereof and shall comprise of sheet metal silos along with handling facilities comprising of conveying systems, cleaning, weighing, quality testing facilities, rail siding and related facilities (integrated silo facility). the concessionaire shall provide storage, preservation and handling services in the silo complex, on an exclusive basis to the authority for a period of the concession which shall be 30 years in terms of concession agreement. the silo complex at dhamora & borivali are planned within the existing depot at these locations and the land is in possession of the authority. the construction period shall be 730 days from the appointed date.
