ultratech cement, a flagship company of the aditya birla group, proposes an expansion of the aditya limestone mining project at tehsil chittorgarh and nimbahera, dist. chittorgarh, rajasthan from 10.0 mtpa to 13.17 mtpa. the current status of the project could not be ascertained. according to moef sources, mining lease area is 760.692 hectares. the company has its existing integrated cement plant and has proposed enhancement in clinker production capacity from 8.4 mtpa to 8.9 mtpa by process optimization at village sawa shambupura, dist. chittorgarh. in order to meet the limestone requirement, the company has proposed expansion in the aditya limestone mine. power requirement for limestone mine will be 13.0 mw which will be sourced from captive thermal power plant and state electricity board/ grid. mining operation is being/ will be carried out by fully mechanized opencast method.
