ultratech cement proposes an expansion of its cement grinding unit at villages shahjhanpur, maksudpur and hurari, dist. patna, bihar from 2 mtpa to 4 mtpa. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 1,682.5 million. the current status of the project could not be ascertained. according to moef sources, total land area of existing grinding unit is 125 acres. the expansion of cement grinding unit will be within the existing plant premises. the project will be completed in 22 months period after getting all the regulatory approvals. ultratech cement is planning a 3.5 mtpa greenfield integrated cement plant in dist. dhar, madhya pradesh. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 26,000 million. the project has been approved by the companys board on 21st january, 2017. commercial production of the new plant is expected to start in q4 fy19. with this expansion and the acquisition of the cement plants of jaiprakash associates, the companys cement capacity will stand augmented to 95 mtpa including its overseas operations. ultratech cement, a flagship company of the aditya birla group, proposes an expansion of the aditya limestone mining project at tehsil chittorgarh and nimbahera, dist. chittorgarh, rajasthan from 10.0 mtpa to 13.17 mtpa. the current status of the project could not be ascertained. according to moef sources, mining lease area is 760.692 hectares. the company has its existing integrated cement plant and has proposed enhancement in clinker production capacity from 8.4 mtpa to 8.9 mtpa by process optimization at village sawa shambupura, dist. chittorgarh. in order to meet the limestone requirement, the company has proposed expansion in the aditya limestone mine. power requirement for limestone mine will be 13.0 mw which will be sourced from captive thermal power plant and state electricity board/ grid. mining operation is being/ will be carried out by fully mechanized opencast method.
