jmd alloys proposes an expansion of its re-rolling mill at village deokuli, dist. patna, bihar from 13,000 tpa to 180,500 tpa. the current status of the project could not be ascertained. according to moef sources, the capacity of the re-rolling mill furnace producing tmt bars/ rods will be augmented from 13,000 tpa to 180,500 tpa by installation of new 30 t rolling mill furnace. the existing plant also produces 22,500 tpa ms ingot/ billet (induction furnace). 6.44 acres is in possession and the expansion will come up on existing land. estimated cost of the expansion project is rs. 245.8 million. producer gas will be utilized for fulfilling the heating requirement of the rolling mill furnace, generated through coal gasifier based system. 5,000 kva of power required will be sourced from south bihar power distribution company (sbpdcl). project completion period is 6 months.
