government of india, ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, is planning an indian institute of skills in dist. kanpur nagar, uttar pradesh. the union ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, in partnership with the institute of technical education, singapore has decided to open the institute. the institute is inspired by the singapore model of training and would adopt various best practices from the country. the ministry has decided to have six such institutes. also, the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship (msde) plans to open one pradhan mantri kaushal kendra (pmkk) each in each district of india. the foundation stone for the kanpur institute was laid on 19th december, 2016.
