central coalfields proposes an expansion of the kedla colliery coal mining project at village & block mandu, dist. ramgarh, jharkhand. the current status of the project could not be ascertained. according to moef sources, kedla colliery (consisting of kedla ocp and kedla ugp) of capacity 1.18 mtpa (normative)/1.57 mtpa (peak) on 1,417.99 hectares of land. the cost of the project is rs. 762.4 million. the method of mining is opencast method of mining with shovel-dumper combination and underground mining by bord & pillar with sdl. the life of mine is 27 years for ocp & 15 years for ugp. public hearing will be held after tor.
