shah pulp and paper mills is planning an expansion of paper manufacturing unit and coal/lignite-based power project at vapi, dist. valsad, gujarat. the capacity of the paper will be expanded from 5,500 tpm to 6,000 tpm and coal/lignite-based power project from 0.5 mw to 4.9 mw. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 500 million. the project is waiting for environmental clearance. the project is scheduled for completion in 5 months from zero date. according to moef sources, proposed expansion project is for manufacturing of paper from waste paper based paper mills (printing/ writing/ news/ print paper). the industrial effluent will be treated in the in-house etp and after conforming the cetp inlet norms will be discharged to cetp. etp waste will be sent to tsdfvwemcl (vapi waste and effluent management co.) for disposal. used oil will be sent to registered reprocessors. the total area of the plot is 39,113.84 sq. mtrs.
