punjab state transmission corporation is implementing a transmission line from substation talwandi to railway traction substation (tss) maiser khana in punjab. the transmission line is connected from the guru hargobind thermal plant (ghtp ) in dist. bathinda, punjab. the project will involve 220 kv line from substation talwandi to railway tss maiser khanna (two phase supply) railway deposit work. civil work is in progress. the project is scheduled for completion in december 2017. according to forest clearance sources, the company has applied for forest clearance for diversion of 0.4872 hectares of forest land required for the project. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 306.1 million. total length of the project is 15.354 kms & total number of towers is 48.
