ntpc is planning the 2x800 mw telangana super thermal power project (tstpp), phase-i at ramagundam, dist. karimnagar, telangana. the project will come up in the premises of ntpc ramagundam. the board has accorded investment approval for the project at current estimated cost of rs. 105.99 billion. ppas have been signed with southern power distribution company of telangana and northern power distribution company of telangana. the commercial operation date (cod) of first unit is envisaged in 52 months and second unit at an interval of 6 months thereafter. [info as of: aug. 16] ntpc is planning the 4,000 mw telangana super thermal power project (tstpp) at village ramagundam, dist. karimnagar, telangana. stage-i will comprise of 2x800 mw and stage-ii will comprise of 3x800 mw. the project will come up on available land in the premises of ntpcs existing ramagundam station which already consists of stage-i: 3x200 mw, stage-ii: 3x500 mw, stage-iii: 1x500 mw. an investment approval of rs. 105,989.8 million has been accorded for the project. ministry of coal vide letter dated 10.09.15 informed that mandakini-b coal mine in odisha has been allotted to ntpc for the tstpp. as an interim arrangement till the development of this mine, tapering coal linkage for telangana stage-i shall be provided from wcl. foundation stone for tstpp stage-i was laid on 7th august, 2016.
