national institute of ocean technology (niot) is planning 6 low temperature thermal desalination (lttd) plants in six lakshadweep islands in the ut of lakshadweep. the capacity of each plant is 100,000 ltrs/ day of potable water. niot has sent a detailed project report (dpr) with a fund requirement of rs. 2,800.1 million to the lakshadweep administration in this regard. the project is in planning stage.
