jammu & kashmir state cable car corporation is planning the badamwari-kohimaran passenger ropeway at badamwari, dist. srinagar, jammu and kashmir. perfact envirosolutions is the environmental consultant. the project is waiting for environmental clearance. work on the project is expected to commence after the receipt of environmental clearance. according to moef sources, the proposed system will be mono-cable fixed grip pulsated gandola system and 456.4 meters long ropeway, covering an area of 9,375.28 sq. mtrs (including terminal stations & ropeway corridor). the proposed ropeway shall be developed from lower terminal point (elevation of 1596 meter above msl) in the extreme corner of badamwari garden to upper terminal point (elevation of 1658 meter above msl) at approximately on the top of the hill near jktdc cafeteria and it will be a continuous ropeway line from ltp to utp. 2,865 sq. mtrs of area of forest land will be diverted. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 193.3 million. the project is planned for completion in 1 year.
