inland waterways authority of india is planning to construct an iwt terminal at ramnagar, dist. varanasi, uttar pradesh. this will be a multimodal terminal with rail and road connectivity. phase-i (a) of the project is being implemented on 5.586 hectares, mainly for offshore works of the terminal. the tender process for phase 1(a) has been completed and work has been awarded at a cost of rs. 1,690 million.
