h. p. power transmission corporation is planning construction of the 132 kv d/c barshani-choror transmission line in dist. kullu, himachal pradesh. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 640 million. the project is waiting for forest clearance. work on the project is expected to commence in h2 2016 & planned for completion in 2018. according to forest clearance sources, this transmission line will evacuate about 113 mw of power generated by the independent power producers in parbati valley in dist. kullu, 58 mw of power from upper parbati valley and on the way to 220/132 kv sub station choror, 53 mw of power from lower parbati valley. the company has applied for forest clearance for diversion of 71.9788 hectares of forest land required for the project for a period of 99 years.
