green valliey industries, a part of gng group, is planning the madan pyrda (block-1) limestone mining project at village chiehruphi, dist. east jaintia hills, meghalaya. the project is waiting for environmental clearance. public hearing is yet to be conducted. according to moef sources, mining lease area is 4.89 hectares. the mine will produce maximum of 0.204 mtpa limestone. the estimated cost of the project is rs. 9.3 million. perfact envirosolutions is the consultant. method of mining will be mechanized opencast method with drilling and blasting. life of mine is 8 years. the proposed project is a captive mine for the companys cement plant at village nongsning located 6 km from the mine. the cement plant has a present capacity of 1,300 tpd with provision of expansion to 2,600 tpd.
