government of goa, captain of ports department, is planning to construct 9 passenger jetties in goa. the government proposes to develop non-major/ small/ medium ports in order to boost coastal shipping in the country. financial support is being provided to major ports/ non-major ports/ state governments for creation of infrastructure to promote movement of cargo/ passengers by sea/ national waterways under central sector scheme assistance to coastal shipping berths. this central sector scheme has been merged with sagarmala programme with the approval of ministry of finance with effect from 06/09/2016. dpr is under preparation.
