carlson hotels (south asia) inaugurated the radison blu hotel at avinashi road, dist. coimbatore, tamil nadu on 1st december, 2016. the hotel consists of 135 well-appointed rooms and suites and facilities like business class lounge, fitness centre, a 9,400 sq. ft banquet hall, seasons all-day-dining restaurant, the great kebab factory, the lounge bar, spa etc. the company has partnered with gbj hotels for opening this hotel. according to media sources, the hotel has been constructed at a cost of rs. 1,800 million. the company plans to add 30 more properties, including 4-5 in south india, taking the total number of units to 170 by 2020. it is eyeing coorg, visakhapatnam, udhagamandalam, kumarapuram to operate on hub and spoke model, depending on the business aspects.
